Pick a location near water and trees with open space to expand. Bedrock seeds each have unique villages nearby — try to settle near one for early trading.
Your first night shelter needs to be just big enough to sleep and store essentials. Cobblestone from a quick dig works great.
Prioritize: a bed (to skip nights), a chest, a furnace, and a crafting table within the first 15 minutes.
Later, build a proper perimeter wall with lighting every 7 blocks to keep spawns down.
Dedicate separate areas for storage, smelting, farming, and enchanting as your base grows.
